KK Data Science
Founded in October 2023, KK Data Science is dedicated to revolutionizing accounting, tax, and payroll systems in Japan by designing cutting-edge infrastructure and developing innovative programming languages. Spearheading this mission is Kohei-David Otani, the institute’s representative, who brings over 25 years of experience in accounting and 12 years in taxation. Prior to founding the institute, Otani established the international department at Otani & Partners Tax Corporation and gained extensive experience in inbound and outbound consulting during his tenure at Deloitte Tax Corporation, one of the Big Four accounting firms. Throughout his career, Otani has successfully assisted more than 3,000 foreign businesses and entrepreneurs from over 30 countries, including Europe, the United States, and Oceania, with establishing operations in Japan.

As globalization accelerates, advancements in machine translation and global conferencing tools have made cross-border business easier. However, foreign companies still face significant challenges when entering the Japanese market, particularly due to the complexities of local accounting systems, tax regulations, and the unique financial and human resources structures that underpin them.

KK Data Science addresses these challenges by benchmarking the latest automation and AI technologies used in back-office functions, especially in finance and human resources, from leading markets like the US and UK. The institute provides tailored solutions designed to align with the business practices and IT environments of its clients’ home countries, ensuring a smooth entry into Japan’s market. With deep expertise in major accounting standards, including J-GAAP, US-GAAP, IFRS, as well as international tax law, tax treaties, and social security agreements, the institute builds scalable, reliable systems to meet clients' needs and offers comprehensive support throughout the implementation process.
